They’ll find his body in the gutter,
Suicide, they’ll say, but it was murder,
They will blame it, on his brain disorder,
A few condolences, then everything’s over
They’ll find her body by the harbour,
Tragedy, they’ll say, but it was murder,
They will declare, she was a subverter,
Just a few prayers, then call her a liar
People start to reclaim
Without compromising
But the fear, the shame
Is truly paralyzing
Go back inside,
Don’t open the door,
Let them fight
For what you stand for
We are hiding and,
We hear, under our sheets
The cries, the screams,
In the streets
Cars burning,
Order is collapsing,
It might be time
But we’re still conforming
People start to pour out
By the thousands
It is time, no doubt
But you can’t decide, and
Stay inside
And bar the door
Let them fight,
For what you stand for
As we’re still hiding,
We hear, under our sheets
The cries, the screams,
In the streets
Boots on the pavement,
The sound of enslavement,
You might be next,
Just be patient
They’ll find their bodies in the water,
Accident, they’ll say, but it was murder,
They’ll grab their guns, they’ll draw satire,
Because blind obedience, is all they require
They’ll shoot their bodies by the border,
Invasion, they’ll say, but it was murder,
Vision of corpses tangled in barbed wire,
Would they be enough, to start the fire ?
Somewhere, sometimes
Written between the lines,
We will see the sun shine and
Everything will be
Somewhere, something,
It won’t be for nothing,
Just before the sunshine,
And everything will be
fine
In our dreams we see
The faces of the ones who fell,
And those who came after to tell,
It’s not over till we’re all free
Everybody dies in vain
Either the cautious or the bold
For all the stories they could have told
Were filled with hope we can’t retain
Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
