Hide and flee
From the battle raging
Bend the knee
Craven, but a craven living
Never again will I commit
To this hypocrite folly
For a speck of glory
Countless souls will no longer fly
In majesty they cry
For us, the last of the flock
Last one standing in this hell
Pride or shame, I cannot tell
Now, surrounded by this awful stench
My only purpose is to avenge
Buried alive with all my grief
I’ll welcome Death with some relief
But I know
It’s not my time
So many souls to send below
Revenge, driving my mind
No one will be left behind
No sleep til they are all aligned
Until they vanish from mankind
Never again will I commit
To this hypocrite folly
For a speck of glory
Countless souls will no longer fly
In majesty they cry
For us, the last of the flock
Watch them fall
Make them crawl
Burn them all
Til I’m whole
Buried alive with all my grief
I welcome Death with some relief
And I know
Now it’s my time
So many souls to join below
Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
